Connect & Collaborate Media KitGreen Hydrogen Production
Dual Functional Catalyst for Water Electrolysis
To make clean hydrogen energy commercially viable, Woody and his team targeted a massive industrial bottleneck: the high cost of rare, precious metal catalysts like platinum (Pt) and iridium (Ir) as well as their susceptibility to sulphur poisoning.
By utilising an alterntive oxidation reaction Urea Oxidation Reaction (UOR) and Hydrogen Evolution Reaction, alongside the usage of 3D hierarchical nanoarrays structured directly on copper foam, our research team improved the efficiency and cost of hybrid water electrolysis
The resulting framework delivers exceptional charge transport, high durability, and lower overpotentials.

Model UN and TEDx
Engaging with international platforms like Model United Nations (MUN) and TEDx has been central to developing my communication skills, organizational strategy, and community outreach. I treat them not as extracurricular activities, but more ways I can give back to my community by leveraging TEDx as a platform. I aim to allow my work as TEDx and MUN to inspire others to take up leadership in their own communities.

Communication & NegotiationComplex committee debates on international policy allowed me to master consensus-building and negotiations. I drafted comprehensive joint resolutions that balanced geopolitical nuances, as well as individual nation stances, finding solutions that are actionable, equitable and compliant.
TEDx
Curation & Leadership
Co-organized an officially licensed TEDx youth platform in Hong Kong by a completely
local student body. Directed curating themes around Youth Empowerment—bringing startup
founders, creative artists, and tech leaders together to inspire students to break
barriers!

Translating IMPACT
Elected by pupils and faculty members to represent a student body of 400+ students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13. Part of the Sixth Form Leadership Team, where we led meetings with 14 additional members of the student council. Fostered a collaborative, inclusive culture—inspiring peers to set standards of academic and civic excellence while driving positive school spirit.
Tackled local food poverty assisting with the distribution of food parcels to support local community members at Llanelli food bank. I provided companionship to post-surgical patients and assisted with tea service twice a week during patient visits; Supported hospital staff with administrative paperwork and cross-departmental deliveries.
